Overview#
Field teams need fast voice, short written updates, and live sensor context in the same mobile workspace. A responder should be able to push to talk with a team, send a tactical message, and watch a receive-only drone or sensor feed without switching between disconnected apps. Mobile Tactical PTT, Chat, and Sensor Feed brings those field communications together.
The module supports real-time push-to-talk, team chat, and receive-only sensor feed screens for mobile responders. It is designed for public safety, search and rescue, event security, border operations, and tactical teams that need lightweight communications in the field while preserving audit, tenant isolation, and operational context.
Key Features#
- Real-Time Push-to-Talk: Field users can join configured talk channels and transmit short operational voice updates.
- Tactical Chat: Team messages remain attached to the mission, incident, or operational channel instead of being lost in consumer messaging tools.
- Receive-Only Sensor Feed: Responders can view authorised live video or sensor context without being able to control the upstream feed.
- Mobile-First Controls: Screens are designed for gloved, one-handed, and high-stress use with clear channel and connection states.
- Tenant and Mission Scoping: Channels, chat rooms, and feeds are scoped to the authorised organisation and operational context.
- Connectivity-Aware Behaviour: The mobile client handles poor network conditions with bounded requests, status feedback, and safe recovery.
- Audit and Denial Logging: Access denials and communication events can be logged under security and operational taxonomies.
Use Cases#
- Search and Rescue Team Coordination: Ground teams use push-to-talk and tactical chat while viewing a receive-only drone feed from the command post.
- Event Security Patrols: Supervisors broadcast instructions, officers acknowledge in chat, and selected users view camera feeds for crowd movement.
- Border Patrol Operations: Mobile units coordinate over a mission channel and monitor remote sensor context without exposing control functions.
- Fireground Support: Command shares live imagery with sector officers while keeping voice updates short and incident-linked.
- Training Exercise: Instructors review field communication timelines and sensor-view access after the exercise.
Integration#
Mobile tactical communications connect to the responder mobile workspace, incident and mission context, team membership, sensor and camera feeds, audit logging, and access control. The capability complements existing radio and CAD integrations rather than replacing mission-critical radio infrastructure.
Open Standards#
- WebRTC: Real-time media transport supports low-latency browser and mobile audio or video sessions.
- SRTP: Secure real-time media transport protects audio and video streams in transit where WebRTC media is used.
- ICE, STUN, and TURN: Connectivity establishment follows standard WebRTC network traversal mechanisms.
- RFC 6455, WebSocket Protocol: Real-time channel state and chat updates can use persistent full-duplex connections.
- ISO 8601: Message, channel, feed, and audit timestamps use standard date-time formatting.
- OAuth 2.0 and JWT Bearer Token: Authenticated context protects channel membership and feed access.
